The pursuit of balance between male and femaleA journey to the Etruscan culture and to your inner self - guided by Selma Sevenhuijsen

The pursuit of balance between male and female

The pursuit of balance between male and female is currently an important question in our society. You can look at it in terms of quotas or in terms of equality in tasks, positions and responsibilities. However beyond that there is a much deeper question:

How are we dealing with male and female in our culture, spiritually, symbolically and psychologically? How are we dealing with male and female in ourselves?

This is the theme of this journey around Lago di Bolsena.

In ancient times, this lake was the centre of the Etruscan culture, a time where male and female was still in balance. We will connect to the (hi)story of that, with the remains you can still find in the surroundings here: ancient altars, temples, hollow ways, fountains and of course the lake itself.

We will search for inner balance, a connection between male and female in ourselves, a balance between mind and heart.

In the morning we go onto excursions to discover the ancient remains, in the afternoon we work with what we have felt and found with meditation, yoga, massage, swimming and creative work.
